Speaker: Dr Gevik Malkhassian

Course Description:
This course is offered to dental clinicians who desire to stay updated on the latest endodontic techniques and scientific advancements in the shaping of root canals. The discussion will include a review of the objectives of root canal treatment and how to achieve a predictable outcome by following the principles of establishing and maintaining the Glide path, and understanding the modern NiTi metallurgy and irrigation technologies.
Learning Objectives:
• The clinicians will become familiar with the Science & Physics of Instrumentation, including advances in metallurgy and file engineering addressing cyclic fatigue and minimizing procedural errors such as file fracture.
• The clinicians will be introduced to reciprocation versus rotation of shaping the root canals using fewer files and understanding how to design enhancements can deliver consistent canal shapes in less time with fewer instruments.
• Clinical cases will be presented

Hands-on Training with Reciprocating Systems (WaveOne Gold and the Newly Introduced Reciproc Blue):
•Introduce the design features and clinical rationale behind Reciproc Blue.
•Practice canal preparation using WaveOne Gold and Reciproc Blue on simulated cases, with a focus on glide path management, shaping efficiency, and canal anatomy challenges.
Hands-on Training with the Dental Operating Microscope:
•Learn the fundamentals of microscope operation, including setup, magnification control, and ergonomic positioning.
•Perform hands-on exercises to enhance visual access, locate canal orifices, and improve accuracy during endodontic procedures under magnification.
